Important Information from the Borough Newsletter:
There is currently a bill (HR 2431 and related bill SB 1357) under consideration
in the Pennsylvania State Legislature to make the county the smallest form of
government in Pennsylvania. If this bill is passed, Allegheny County would be
the smallest level of government in our area. All of the smaller towns and
boroughs would be forced to merge under the county. Under this structure, the
county would be responsible for the services our borough now provides. This
would likely lead to tax increases and our Borough Police and Fire services
would probably be absorbed by whomever the county appoints. If you oppose these
measures please contact your State Representative and State Senator to make them
aware of your position on the matter.
